Dusk of Despair

Falling apart bit by bit, losing myself in this nonsensical shit,
I hate to admit but there is a good chance that I might quit.

In shadows cast by twilight’s grasp, a heart weighed down by tightest clasp, Hopelessness whispers in the ear, its somber tune, so crystal clear.

A shattered dream, a fleeting light, lost amidst the endless night,
In darkened depths, despair resides, where hope’s last ember slowly dies.

When dreams are lost and worlds collide, when tears flow freely, hearts divide,
A dream once bright, now lost from view, in endless night, it bids adieu.

Wherever I go, tripping through the flow,
The dark night surrounds me still, opening wounds that may kill.

We’re human, after all, with hearts that feel, It’s alright to acknowledge when wounds are real.
Challenges arise, and storms may brew, yet, we’re told, “It’s okay,” as if we always knew.

Does it always have to be okay? Or can we find meaning in shades of grey?
We can find solace in a loved one’s embrace, or a stranger’s kindness, a saving grace.
